EBENSBURG, PA 1831 Thursday, 14 Jul 1831 GEGAN, Thomas (Reverend), a native of County West Meath, Ireland, late Curate of the Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh, died Monday last at Newry, aged 36 years. Interred at the Catholic Cemetery at that place. Thursday, 21 Jul 1831 WILLIAMS, John T. and Anne THOMAS, daughter of Rev Thomas E. of Jackson Twp., married on Thursday last, by Rev. William WILLIAMS. LITSINGER, Jane, wife of Charles of Ebensburg, died Friday last at Williamsburg, Huntingdon County, aged 29 years. She was buried in a graveyard in Loretto. ROWLAND, Ellis, and Jane THOMAS, daughter of Rev. Thomas of Jackson Twp., married on Thursday last, by Rev William WILLIAMS. Thursday, 11 Aug 1831 ANDREWS, Benjamin, at Blairsville, editor of the "Conemaugh Republican" and Laura SANGER, daughter of David of Erie, married Thursday, 21st inst, at Erie by Rev. Joseph S. BARRIS. APPLETON, Ann, wife of Dr. E. APPLETON, died Monday, 10th inst, leaving a husband, 13 day old infant and five more children. She left England in 1821. Thursday, 18 Aug 1831 GITTENS, Roger, died Monday last at the home of his brother William GITTENS, near Ebensburg, aged 55 years. He had lately emigrated from Wales with his wife and two children. He had two children left in Wales. Thursday, Sep 1831 FITE, Jacob, died Monday morning, 29th ult, aged 67. He was a respectable citizen of Conemaugh Twp. Thursday, 1 Sep 1831 YOUNG, William, son of Dr. Robert of Ebensburg, died Thursday last, aged about 4 months, having survived its mother only 8 weeks. Thursday, 8 Sep 1831 BRAWLEY, David, and Abbey RHODES, both from near Ebensburg, married Tuesday last by Rev. James BRADLEY. LEVERGOOD, Jacob and Jane Louisa HAYES, all of Conemaugh, married Thursday, 1st inst, at Conemaugh by Rev. N. G. SHARRETS. LINTON, John, of Conemaugh Borough, and Adelaide LACOCK, daughter of General Abner, of Beaver Pennsylvania, married Thursday, 1st inst, at Beaver by Rev. HENDERSON. Thursday, 29 Sep 1831 HUGHES, John, and Martha JONES, both of the vicinity of Ebensburg, married Thursday last by Rev. George ROBERTS. RICHARDS, Simon, and Eliza JAMES, both late of Pottsville, married 24th inst., on the Tunnel Section of the Portage Railroad, by Rev. Dr. APPLETON. Thursday, 6 Oct 1831 BRIGGS, Albin, died Monday morning last at Frankstown. He was formerly of Cambria County and lately engaged as a stage driver between Ebensburg and Yellow Springs. Thursday, 20 Oct 1831 BROOKBANK, Thomas of Summerhill Twp, and Mary, daughter of Edward BRADY of Allegheny Twp, married Tuesday last, by Rev. D. A. GALLITZIN. Thursday, 27 Oct 1831 SLEEK, Rev. John, of the Methodist Episcopal Church, died 17th inst, at his residence near Johnstown of a bilious fever, leaving a widow and a number of children. Thursday, 3 Nov 1831 DODSON, Eliza, consort of William, of Allegheny Twp, died Sunday evening last, aged 29 years. PHYTH?AN, Charles G. (Doctor) and Eliza LINTON, both of Conemaugh, married Thursday last, at Conemaugh, by Rev. TERRY. Thursday, 10 Nov 1831 GREEN, Thomas, died 31 ult., in Bairdstown, Westmoreland County, of a lingering illness. Was formerly from Blairsville. Thursday, 17 Nov 1831 O'HARA, James, died Saturday last, in Allegheny Twp, aged about 50 years. ROBERTS, Joshua, son of John of Cambria Twp, died 8th inst., aged 17 years. Thursday, 1 Dec 1831 SKELLY, Michael, of Summerhill Twp, died Sunday last, after a confinement of several years, aged 87 years. One of the early settlers of Cambria County. WELSH, Silvester, Esq., of Ebensburg, principal engineer on the Western Division of the Pennsylvania Canal and Railway, and Sarah G. STANARD, daughter of Daniel, Esq., of Indiana, married at Indiana on 23 inst, by Rev. David BLAIR. Thursday, 8 Dec 1831 GRIFFITHS, Ann, wife of Griffith GRIFFITHS of near this place, died Monday morning last. Left 8 small children. ROWLAND, Mary, wife of John, from near this place, lately from Wales, died Sunday last, left 3 small children. Thursday, 15 Dec 1831 BARNETT, John Hamilton, son of William, died 08th inst., aged 9m and 28 d. Thursday, 22 Dec 1831 DOUGLASS, John died Thursday evening last at his residence in Allegheny Twp. GALLAGHER, Hugh Esq., died Friday last at Frankstown, Huntingdon County. He lived in Clearfield Twp, Cambria County. Thursday, 29 Dec 1831 GRIFFITHS, Jane, widow of William, of Cambria Twp, died Tuesday last. An aged woman, she died after a short sickness. PRINGLE, Catharine, wife of George of Summerhill Twp, died Friday last. She was long afflicted with disease and for the last year has been totally blind. |
