EBENSBURG, PA 1879
Friday, 31 Jan 1879 GILL -- Died at the residence of her parents, in St. Lawrence, Chest Township, on Saturday, Jan 18, 1879, Miss Flora, third daughter of John and Catharine Gill, aged 14 years. ... A Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the deceased was celebrated on Monday forenoon by Father Edmund, after which her remains were followed to their last early resting place in the Catholic cemetery by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
21 AUG 1879 Mrs. Jane Lloyd, mother of the well known Wash. Lloyd, of Susquehanna township, (Cambria County), died on the 29th of July, aged about 87 years. Mrs. Lloyd was the maternal progenitor of 14 children, who in turn furnished her with 77 grandchildren, by the latter of whom thus far 27 great grandchildren have been born unto her. The deceased bore twins twice during her married life, and on the principle of "like father like son," with a slight variation, four of her daughters have went and gone and done the same thing. Peace to her ashes. |
