Martha L. Benshoff, 89, Cassandra, formerly of New Germany, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Cassandra. Born Nov. 10, 1913, in Johnstown, the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Ford) Eppley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul J. Benshoff; and brothers, Gilbert and Wesley Eppley. She was the last member of her immediate family. Survivors include children: Phyllis, wife of Edward “Ted” Myers, Cassandra; James Benshoff, married to the former Elizabeth “Bessie” Sutton, New Germany; and Ralph Benshoff, South Fork. The beloved grandmother of Susan (Mike) Stager, Edward (Jackie) Myers, Barbara (Tom) Krcha, Matthew (Renee) Myers, Dan (Carrie) Myers, Cindy Benshoff, Christina (Steve) Hines, Cheryl (Scott) Burns, Malisha Benshoff, Heidi (Chris) Benshoff and Tonya Benshoff, Martha was the great-grandmother of Jocelyn and Julia Myers; Tabatha Myers and Travis Stiffler; Marissa and Cassidy Myers; Stephanie, Rebecca and Christine Yakicic; and Manisha, Latisha, Alexis and Jordan Benshoff. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Virginia Benshoff, Bradenton, Fla.; and friends and care givers, Pat Voss and Gennie Kuisick. As a hobby and past time, Martha loved to crochet. She was a member of the Third Brethren Church, Morrellville. Friends were received Wednesday, July 30 at the Mark A. Serenko Funeral Home, Portage, where funeral services were held Thursday, July 31 with the Rev. Richard P. Howe, officiating. Committal was in Benshoff Hill Cemetery. |
