CRAWFORD HAMMELL.

Mr. Crawford Hammell, an aged and well-known citizen of Blair county, died of paralysis Tuesday evening at 9 o'clock at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. M. M. Wire, 1822 Tenth avenue, Altoona. Mr. Hammell was 76 years old and is survived by seven daughters and one son, as follows: Mrs. James Simpson of Hastings, Mrs. Rachel Donnelly of Colorado, Mrs. William Lafferty of Altoona, Mrs. Boyd Walls of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Harry Miller of Frugality, Mrs. Martin Hart of Hollidaysburg, Mrs. M.M. Wire of Altoona, and Mr. Alfred Hammell of Altoona.

His wife preceded him to the grave about two months ago. They were both taken ill on the same day with slight strokes of paralysis, from which neither recovered.

The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the residence of Mr. M.M. Wire, 1822 Tenth avenue and conducted by Dr. Weigle, of the First Lutheran church. The remains were interred in the Bellwood cemetery.
