DEAD AT HILLSIDE

Deceased Was Daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gore;
Was Born in This City

Mrs. James Wilson Barnett, whose maiden name was Sophronia Gore, died last evening at the Barnett residence at Hillside, Westmoreland County, after a long illness of nervous exhaustion and heart trouble. Funeral services will be held at the Barnett home at 12:45 oclock Friday afternoonby the Rev. Dr. Tulley, of the Derry Presbyterian Church, of which Mrs. Barnett was a member. Mrs. Amanda Hutchinson and Mrs. J. Swan Taylor, of the South Side, and Mrs. Jane Gore, of the Eighth Ward went to Hillside today to attend the funeral and other relatives will follow tomorrow and Friday morning. Private burial will be made to Unity Cemetery, Beatty.

Mrs. Barnett was a daughter of Thomas and Amanda (Mitchell) Gore and was born near the corner of Main and Franklin streets, this city. She was a sister of Mrs. Hutchinson and Mrs. Taylor and also of the late John and Willis Gore, who died in Chicago and the late George S. Gore, who passed away suddenly in this city a few years ago. Mr. Barnett and Miss Gore were married in Johnstown 52 years ago today by the Rev. William A. Fleming, who was then the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. For a long time before her marriage, Mrs. Barnett sang in the First Presbyterian Church choir, this city. She and Mr. Barnett have made their home at Hillside since their marriage. Mr. Barnett was the P.R.R. agent at that place for a long time before his retirement.

Besides her husband and sisters, Mrs. Barnett is survived by a son, Ralph Pitcairn Barnett, of New York City, and three daughters, Mrs. Charles A. Finley, of Pittsburg, and Misses Nancy E. and Mary Olive Barnett, at home.
