SOURCE NOTATION:
Ebensburg Mountain Sentinel, 30 Jan 1851, Contributed by Lisa Baker

Death of John Furguson, Esq.

We neglected in our last to announce the death of our esteemed friend and fellow citizen, JOHN FERGUSON, Esq. He died in New Orleans, on the tenth inst., of pulmonary consumption. He left this county several weeks since with a view of going to Cuba in the hope of recruiting his health, but it seems he was seized by the hand of death ere he reached his place of destination. He was well known by the people of this county, and universally esteemed as an honest and upright man, and his death will be mourned by all with whom he was acquainted.

VOL 7, NO 18

A few weeks since we received what we supposed accurate information concerning the death of JOHN FERGUSON, Esq., which was asserted to have occurred at New Orleans on the 10th of January. We are now happy in being able to announce that the report of his death was false, and that he is still in the land of the living. It will be recollected that he left this county some time since intending to visit Cuba for the purpose of recruiting his health, but he has as yet been unable to proceed any further than New Orleans.
