DEATH OF MRS. KANE

MRS. MILBURGH KANE died last evening at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. T. Brophy, in Altoona. Deceased was born near Loretto, Cambria County, in 1798 and was a daughter of Luke McGuire and granddaughter of Captain Michael McGuire, of Revolutionary fame, the first settler of Cambria County. She had been a widow fifty-one years, her husband, Colonel James Kane, having died in September, 1827. Mrs. Kane was a most exemplary Christian, and was known and esteemed by many persons in Cambria and Blair counties. Her remains will be taken to Loretto for internment.
