VARNER, Elizabeth (Skelly)

|Elizabeth, widow of George Varner of Jackson Township, died at 11:30 o'clock last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry F. Rager, near Vinco, from the effects of her third stroke of paralysis sustained at 9:35 Wednesday night and from which she never regained consciousness. She was aged sixty-seven years.
Deceased's maiden name was Elizabeth Skelly and she came from the vicinity of Wilmore, whe she was married many years ago to George Varner, who died on his farm in Jackson Township about six years ago. Since her husband's death Mrs. Varner had most of the time made her home with her children.
Mrs. Varner is survived by the following children: Zachariah and William Varner of East Taylor Township; Robert of Vinco; Elijah and Peter of Johnstown; Hulda, wife of William Kepple, of East Conemaugh; Elizabeth, wife of George Makin of Vintondale, and Henrietta, wife of H. F. Rager, of Jackson Township.
John Skelley* of Pittsburg and Joseph Skelley of South Fork were brothers of Mrs. Horner, while William Dimond of Summerhill is a half-brother, and Lena, wife of Michael Tulley, of Summerhill, and Louisa, widow of Michael Young of South Fork, are half-sisters surviving.
Mrs. Varner was a member of the Evangelical Church for many years and was one of the best known and most respected women in the neighborhood in which she resided.
The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon. The party will leave the Rager residence at 10 o'clock and proceed to Wesley Chapel, where services will be conducted and interment will be made in the cemetry adjoining.
