Andrew Eckenrode, a well-known and prominent citizen of Carrolltown, died in a New York City hospital Thursday. In company with Carrolltown physicians, Mr. Eckenrode went to New York early in the week to undergo an operation, from which he did not recover. The deceased was about fifty-five years of age and had lived in Carrolltown all his life.

Mr. Eckenrode is survived by the following children: Etta, wife of F. N. Donahue, of Carrolltown; Ida, wife of W. H. Chester, of Carrolltown; William H., who is editor of the Gallitzin "Times"; Mollie, wife of F. C. Sharbaugh, of Ebensburg; Ella, Vera, and Myrtle, at home.

The funeral was held at 9 o’clock this morning, the requiem mass in the Carrolltown Catholic Church being followed by interment in the church cemetery.
