Blood poisoning, developing from an injury which had not been given proper attention and for which he was admitted to the Memorial Hospital at almost the last minute, resulted yesterday in the death of Alex Sawyer, of near Summerhill, at the Memorial Hospital in this city. Mr. Sawyer was a woodsman and some time ago cut himself in the knee. The wound seemed trifling at first and was given little attention. Soreness followed soon afterward, however, and a physician was consulted after Mr. Sawyer had suffered some time. his removal to the hospital followed later, but the poison had spread through the man's system.
Alex Sawyer was married only last October to Miss Annie Ford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Ford, who live about two miles from Summerhill. Funeral services will be held in the Ford home at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon, with interment *later in* the Ford plot in cemetery about one mile form Summerhill.
