| BARNETT. – In Upper Yoder, on Sunday, January 24, 1875, a son of Jeremiah and Margaret Barnett, aged 2 years, 1 month, 14 days. OUR DEARY, L. Sweet little flower they bloom hath fled, And thou art numbered with the dead; Short was thy stay with us below, And loth we were to let thee go. The little lamb was suffering Down in this world so cold, The Shepherd knew and pitied it, And called it to the fold. ‘Tis hard to remember the bright little face, And thy sweet little prattling tongue, They little chair empty stands in its place, For our heart’s idol is gone. Yes thou art gone, forever gone, And left us here to weep Till we are called to follow thee, And in thy grave to sleep. |
