YOUNG NURSE IS DEAD
Demise Caused by Appendicitis, Induced by a Fall Down Stairs.
Miss Lyda Nane Callihan, a well-known member of the Memorial Hospital Training School for Nurses and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Callihan, of No. 640 Bedford street, died at the Eighth Ward institution at 7 o'clock Monday morning following an operation on Saturday for appendicitis which was brought on by a fall down the stairs September 16th while nursing her brother and sister, who are ill with typhoid fever. Miss Callihan was twenty-one years of age and is survived by her parents, six sisters, and five brothers. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon and interment was made in Grand-View Cemetery. |
