Mrs. Elizabeth Lovett, one of the oldest and most respected residents of Croyle Township, died at her home about five miles south of Wilmore on Tuesday, July 10th, in the seventy-ninth year of her age. Deceased, whose maiden name was Burke, was among the earliest residents of that section, her parents having come from Maryland with the famous Prince Gallitzin, near the close of the last century. She was a faithful, earnest woman, and the vicissitude and cares inseparable from a long life, of which she had her full share, were borne by her with a patience and fortitude which will certainly smooth her pathway in the world to come. She is survived by an aged husband and several children, besides a large circle of relatives and friends scattered through the western part of the state. Her funeral occurred on Wednesday, when her remains were followed by a large concourse to their last resting place in St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery, at Wilmore. May she rest in peace.
