BYERS -- Harry S., 83, North Main Street, Davidsville, died April 8, 1985, at Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 2, 1901, in Conemaugh Township, son of Homer and Lydia (Blough) Byers. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Annie L. Kaufman; granddaughter, Paula J. Hunter, and three brothers. Survived by widow, Thelma (Thomas), and these children: Anna, wife of Leonard Harker, Davidsville, Rev. Boyd, married to former Wilmina Weaver, Central City; Esther, wife of Irvin Hunter, Windber; and William, married to former Shirley Ribblett, Johnstown; also 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Brother of Vera Mack, California; Mabel Irene Lybarger, Holsopple, and Mary Yourich, Carpenters Park. Member of Johnstown First Church of Nazarene, Riverside. Retired from Bird Coal Co. Member of UMWA 998, Tire Hill. Death ends marriage union of 20 years. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville. Remains will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Church of nazarene Riverside, the Rev. Louis W. Staubs. Interment Blough Mennonite Cemetery. |
