South For, Sept. 26--James Callaghan, Superintendent of the South Fork Coal Mining Company, died at 2 o'clock this afternoon at his home here following a long illness with cancer of the stomach,. He had been a patient at Mercy Hospital, Johnstown.

Mr. Callaghan was 69 years of age. His widow and the following children survive: John, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Sister Bonavencia, of Baden; Rose, William, Thomas, Edward, and Peter, at home. Mrs. Thomas McCarthy, of South Fork, and Raymond, employed as a printer on the Johnstown "Democrat."
