|JACOB S. GOUGHNOUR.|
Jacob S. Goughnour, whose serios illness was noted in the Tribune several days ago, died at his home, in Conemaugh Township, on Saturday night, at the age of eighty-four years. Deceased was the son of Peter Goughnour, who formerly owned and lived on the farm in Taylor Township, now in the occupancy of Mr. Hiram Ribblett. The family came to Cambria from the Cove, Blair County, but whether Jacob was born there or here has not been learned. For forty years the subject of this notice resided on the farm where he died, situated about a half mile beyond Parkstown. He owned several large tracts of land in different localities, some of which he sold. The others were divided up among his children, four of whom survive, as follows: Elizabeth, the endest, who is unmarried and lives on a farm by herself in Adams Township; Susan, the wife of Jesse Wissinger; Lydia, married to Samuel Hoffman, and Mary, the youngest, who kept house for her father at the old homestead.
Mr. Goughnour was a member of the Dunkard Church, and always took an active interest its welfare.
The remains were laid to rest this afternoon at 1 o'clock in Singer's graveyard, a large concourse of relatives and friends being in attendance.
