|Mrs. Mary Thomas, relict of Richard J. Thomas, died at the home of Abraham Reese, in Cambria township, on Monday, April 30th, 1900, after an illness of three days from pneumonia, aged 83 years and 11 months.|
The deceased was born in Drywan, Montgomeryshire, North Wales, and was married to Mr. Thomas on the 17th of April 1850. The day after their marriage the newly wedded couple started to America with the intention of making it their future home. They came direct to Cambria township and after six years residence, Mr. Thomas purchased the farm which has been the family home until their death. Mr. Thomas died on the 13th of June, 1899, and his life partner has soon followed after.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by two sons, Robert R., of Johnstown, and Joseph O., residing on the old old (sic) farm in Cambria township, and one daughter, Mrs. Jane, wife of John E. Jones, of Cambria township.
The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Welsh Calvanistic church in Ebensburg of which the deceased had been a member for about 48 years, and after services conducted by Rev. William H. Williams, assisted by Revs. John N. Davis, D.D., of Johnstown, J.T. Jones, P.H.D., of Ebensburg, and A.L. Rowe, of Cambria township, the remains were laid to rest in Lloyd cemetery
