Mr. James Scanlan, a young man employed as a miner by Dysart & Co. at Lilly's Station, this county, was killed a few days ago by a fall of slate. He was engaged at the time in loading a wagon in one of the mines, assisted by two of his brothers, both of whom fortunately escaped without injury. Mr. Patrick Scanlan, father of the deceased, had one of his feet smashed in the same room about a week previous. |
