Remarks:   Gounaris, Theresa Edna, (85) of Lower Yoder Twp., entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 16, 2019. The love of her family guided her as she joined her husband in heaven. Born September 9, 1934, in Johnstown, daughter of Rudolph and Vesta (DeDea) Zucco. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Gounaris Sr., who passed away in 2014; daughter Deborah “Debbie” Davis, who passed away in 2011; brother, Edward and wife, Geraldine (Dantrilli) Zucco, Rudolph Zucco Jr., sister, Stella (Zucco), and husband, Paul Repak; and sister, Virginia (Zucco), and husband, Danny Lenzi; and brother-in-law, Louis Repak. Survived by loving children; Charles Gounaris Jr. and fiancée Roseanne Healy, Pittsburgh; Richard, and wife, Darlene (Terek) Gounaris, Phoeniz, Ariz.; Terri Gounaris, Greensburg; and Christina, and husband, Mike Galasso, Johnstown; grandchildren, Jessica Duke, Ashley Gounaris, Sarah (Ron) Hrovosky, Tiffany (Michael) Schreppler, Richard C. Gounaris, Chip, Graham, and Shane (Lindsay Brewer) Davis, Hayley and Sean Butler, Julie (Travis Toth) and Nicholas Yost, and Lexi and Brandon Galasso; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister, Mary Louise (Zucco) Repak and sisters-in-law, Karen (Singer) Zucco, Joann (Doria) Cross, and Mary (Ben) Puleo; brother-in-law, Jim Gounaris; best friends Jean and Jon Vogel; and many loving nieces and nephews. Theresa was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. Her love and devotion to her family and faith will remain in our hearts forever. A special “thank you” to Aunt Karen for being such a devoted, loving, kind caregiver, sister, and friend to Mom. She loved you dearly and cherished every day with you. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8pm on Sunday at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home, West End, where Panachida will be celebrated at 4 pm Sunday. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 am Monday at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 411 Power Street, Cambria City. Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
