BOOTH- Herschel E. Jr. "Bud," 92, Johnstown. Passed away on February 15, 2021. Born January 13, 1929 in Lehman Twp. Son of Herschel Sr. and Arlene (Deiter) Booth. Preceded in death by his parents, wife AnnaMae (Curry), and son Roger E. Survived by children, Linda married to Jim Woodhead and Jeff married to Carol (Yuran) all of Johnstown; grandchildren Jeremy Woodhead married to Jessica, Joshua Woodhead married to Krista, Nicholas and Shannon Booth; great grandchildren Aidan Peffer, and Brady, Jason, and Jacob Woodhead; sisters Blanche Cramer and Audrey Gross; sister-in-law Patricia Knee; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Bud was an active member of Ferndale United Methodist Church, where he was a Lay Speaker, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Usher, Chief Cook for the church events for many years and served on many committees. Also, a member of the Elks Lodge 175, 50 year member of the Free Masons, and Harmony Singing Society . Past member of Oakbrook Golf Club, GTE Retirees Golf League, and Moxham PNA Golf League. A 1946 graduate of Johnstown High School, Navy Veteran (1946 to 1948) where he served as an Aviation Electrician's Mate in Kodiak, Alaska, Fireman at C&BL Railroad, Apprentice Lineman for Sordoni Construction Company before retiring in 1990 as a General Foreman from Penelec. He loved golfing with his family, especially his grandsons. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and woodcarving. Also, helped his children and grandchildren with electrical work in their homes. There was not any problem he could not solve. He had a strong faith in God, abundant love for his family, was kind, caring, always positive and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by many. Due to COVID-19 concerns, services and burial will be held privately by Rev. Dennis Zimmerman. However, a Public Celebration of Life will be held a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Ferndale United Methodist Church, 701 Vickroy Ave., Johnstown, PA. 15905. John Henderson Co. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
