||Louise Francis Jefferson 96, of Johnstown, PA, went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2021. Born Oct 20, 1924 in Atlanta Georgia the only daughter of Howard and Evelyn McGinty. After the passing of her mother, at the age of 9 years old Louise came to Johnstown and was raised by her grandmother the late Mattie Neal. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 yrs of marriage, John R. Jefferson Sr, son John (Beaver) Jefferson Jr., grandson George (Randy) Randolph and granddaughter Artese M. Bolton, step-brother Wallace McGinty, sister Dorothy Walker, sister Cecelia Davis, and brother Charles Neal, brother in-laws, Norman Jones, Wilbur Veney and James Caitlin, sister in-laws Lorena Manning, Louise Jones, Arlene Jefferson and Dorothy Berry.
Survived by her children Evelyn Randolph of Pittsburgh, Linda Whitfield, Peggy (Rev. Grant Howard), Judy Haselrig, Donna, Juana, Keith (Floretta), Melania and Daryl all of Johnstown. William Lowry, a loving son of Savanah, Georgia. She has a combined total of 130 grands, great great grands and great great great grands, a legacy of five generations. Brother in-law Donald Jefferson of Johnstown and sister in-law Betty Veney, of Houston, TX along with a host of nieces and nephews. Louise resided with and was cared for by her loving, devoted daughter Peggy. Louise was a devoted wife and mother to all. She received her G.E.D at the age of 52. She was also a member of the E. L. Davis Club and once held the office of daughter ruler of the Mecca temple #294 IBPOE of W, and was a recipient of the phenomenal woman award, and achieved many other accomplishments throughout her life. She was a faithful servant for Christ even through her battle with cancer which she overcame. She was an advocate for young children and a pillar in her community. Friends will be received from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home, located at 79 J Street, Johnstown, PA 15906 on Friday, February 26, 2021 and Saturday, February 27, 2021, 11am until funeral service begins at 12pm. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. Rev. Artrell Hawkins officiating. Proper mask wearing and social distancing will be enforce. Flowers and cards will be received at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home.
